Self-Request for MSK Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy
This self referral route allows patients to access MSK Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy services quickly, without needing to see a GP or health professional first.
This service is for people aged 16 years of age and over with MSK/hand problems and registered with a local GP practice.
You can self-refer by calling the admin team on 0800 0485 300.
If you don’t want to self-refer (e.g. owing to communication difficulties), or are under the age of 16, you can be referred via your GP, consultant, nurse or other health professional.
Do not use this self-referral if:
- your GP is out of our geographical area (the Goole area is not in the geographical area, for example).
- you have received treatment from the MSK Physiotherapy/Hand Therapy service for the same condition in the last 6 months.
- you have undergone physiotherapy in the last 6 months for the same complaint and have found no improvement to symptoms.
- you are wanting specialist services (i.e. women’s health, amputee, breast care or vestibular services).
- you are looking for a home visit, as this will need to go via the Community Physiotherapy service.
Please consult with your GP/A&E URGENTLY if you have recently or suddenly developed:
- difficulty passing urine or controlling bladder/bowels.
- numbness or tingling around your back passage or genitals.
- numbness, pins and needles, bilateral sciatica (leg pain) or weakness in both legs.
